At Virgin Voyages, we completely support our Sailors' desire for a late checkout. With that, boarding generally begins at 2:15 pm, but Sailors must follow their selected Terminal Arrival Time to complete terminal check-in.
We recommend booking a flight that allows ample time for travel from the airport to the port, including check-in and any unforeseen delays. Arrival times may vary depending on your home port, so please plan accordingly. Be sure to check the Virgin Voyages App to view your chosen arrival time.
Sailors can get a head start by completing the Ready to Sail check-in process in the Virgin Voyages App.
You may complete the Ready To Sail check in process for other Sailors booked in your cabin - not for those in another cabin.
In the Virgin Voyages app, Sailors can check in prior to their voyage and select a Terminal Arrival Time. Our vessel will set sail at the time listed and will depart in a timely manner. That means on the dot.
According to PortMiami, long-term cruise parking is $22 per night, while the daily rate is $8 for short-term parking. There is no reserved parking. PortMiami parking accepts cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or any major U.S. Traveler’s Check. No debit card transactions are accepted. Garage J is pre-paid only, so you have to pay when you get to Garage J and are given a decal to post inside your vehicle for the duration of the cruise.
For all other parking, you pay as you leave. On cruise days, all garages and lots have a parking attendant from 6 AM to 5 PM. To access parking garages and Lot #2 on non-cruise days, please contact PortMiami Cruise Operations or Port Security at 305-347-4800. Security patrols all facilities. The closest garage to Terminal V is Garage G.
You will receive an email 72 hours before the voyage with a PDF of your luggage tags to print at home. If needed, luggage tags will also be available for pickup at the port, along with The Band—your sleek wearable technology made from recycled ocean plastic, unlocking voyage adventures around the ship.
We understand that not everyone can drop off their luggage at their exact arrival time. So, to make things more convenient for our Sailors, we'll start accepting luggage at Terminal V from 9 AM onwards.
If you decide to drop off your luggage early, please keep in mind that you should return to the terminal no earlier than 15 minutes before your chosen arrival time. We want to avoid overcrowding and ensure a smooth check-in experience for everyone.
Just a friendly reminder, there won't be any seating available outside the terminal, and access to the terminal will be limited to Sailors at their scheduled arrival time, which you selected during the check-in process on the Virgin Voyages App. Arriving early doesn't mean you'll get in early, so please plan accordingly.
While we have not placed restrictions on Sailor luggage, we recommend limiting the number of bags you bring on board so that we can accommodate all Sailors and ensure a smooth embarkation. We also recommend checking airline restrictions if you're flying.
You'll be able to find all the deets about the ports in the Virgin Voyages App by going to the Discover tab and selecting Ports.
Our Terminal Crew will be available to assist you up to the ship with a wheelchair when you arrive at the port. Wheelchair assistance is provided from the Terminal entrance to the entrance of the gangway. Please note, this service is only offered on embarkation and disembarkation days at our home ports and is not available during port calls throughout the itinerary.
The RockStar check-in lounge via Palm Way is exclusively for our RockStar and Mega RockStar Sailors only. We want to ensure that we are providing a fitting experience for all our VIP suite sailors.
Sailors with access to Deep Blue Extras may arrive at the terminal as early as 1:45 PM and board through Priority Check-In to be among the first to board the ship, following RockStar Sailors.
Sailors should arrive at the terminal at the Arrival Time that they selected when they completed their online check-in (Ready-to-Sail). This terminal does not have any waiting area for Sailors. Sailors who did not complete Ready-to-Sail in the Virgin Voyages App should plan to arrive after 3:00 PM.
Sailors have the option to drop off their luggage at the Terminal as early as 9:00 AM and can then explore the charm of Old San Juan.
Pier 4 is located in the heart of Old San Juan and will allow you to immerse yourself in the city's rich history, colorful architecture, and vibrant culture. Discover historic forts, stroll along cobblestone streets, and savor the flavors of Puerto Rican cuisine before embarking on your voyage.
Sailors can drop off their luggage as early as 9:00 AM.
The ship will depart at 8:30 PM.
The terminal will close at 7:30 PM.
Our Terminal Angels will tag all Sailor's luggage in the lot adjacent to Pier 4 (if facing the pier, it will be to your right). Once tagged, Sailors can then take their luggage to the front of the pier entrance to drop it off with the Porters to be transported to the Ship.
You can select your Terminal Arrival Time using the Virgin Voyages App once your voyage is booked. Before you make your selection, make sure to follow the Ready to Sail check-in instructions.
Keep in mind that boarding generally begins at 2:15 pm, but Sailors must follow their selected Terminal Arrival Time to complete their check-in.
For Sailors interested in exploring Miami prior to their Terminal Arrival Time, the City of Miami operates a free trolley that stops at North America Way/Port Admin Building, near Terminal V. Sailors can find Trolley Info, Schedules, & Maps by navigating to the
Miami.gov(will be opened in a new window) website. Sailors can also download the City of Miami Trolley App for more information, such as trolley location, etc.
We offer ground transportation for our Mega RockStar Sailors with extended service to Central London and nearby airports for an additional charge. For additional information, please contact Sailor Services Crew Mon-Fri from 8 am - 9 pm and Sat-Sun from 9 am - 6 pm (EST) at 954-488-2955.
The Print-at-Home Luggage Tag process allows Sailors to download and print their luggage tags at home before arriving at the terminal. This helps streamline embarkation and ensures bags are delivered to the right cabin.
Sailors will receive an email 72 hours before embarkation containing a PDF link to download and print their luggage tags. This email is automatically sent once all Ready to Sail steps are completed.
First, check your spam or junk folder—sometimes, emails like to hide there! If you still don’t see it 72 hours before embarkation, don’t worry. We’ll have luggage tags ready for you when you arrive at the terminal at your selected time. No need to come early—we’ve got you covered the old-fashioned way!
Yes! If you forget to print your tags, we’ll have them available at the terminal. That said, printing them at home will help speed up your embarkation process.
