Where do I catch my transportation pickup for my Shore Thing?
Sailors will be able to locate their Shore Thing meeting point on the Virgin Voyages app.
Will Sailors who purchased Shore Things be prioritized for tenders into the port?
Sailors that have booked Shore Things will have a space reserved on a tender to the port. Sailors will need to meet at the location stated in the Virgin Voyages app 15 minutes prior to their departure time.
How will Sailors be tendered into the port?
Sailors will be transported into the port with our lady ship’s tender boats. Time slots must be reserved ahead of time in the Virgin Voyages app.
How do I reserve a time slot for tenders?
Sailors can select time slots by booking them as a Shore Thing in the Virgin Voyages app.
Can I leave the ship and return the next day during overnight stays?
Yes, Sailors can disembark and stay in port during overnight stays. We advise Sailors to be back on the ship at least one (1) hour prior to the ship’s departure.
Which Shore Things are wheelchair accessible?
Wheelchair-accessible Shore Things are indicated in the Need to Know section within each Shore Thing on the app and website. For further questions, details, or assistance regarding wheelchair-accessible Shore Things, please reach out to our Sailor Services Crew through the App or by visiting them on Deck 5.
At what time do I need to be back on the ship before departing from each port?
During days at port, the ship's departure time can be found in the Virgin Voyages App and displayed on screens throughout the ship. We recommend arriving back to the ship an hour before the scheduled departure time.
Are tenders Wheelchair Accessible?
Some ports may lack sufficient pier capacity for us to moor our ship alongside. In these instances, we will anchor and use a tender or water shuttle (we’ll refer to these collectively as “tenders”) to transport our Sailors to shore and back. In order to safely board most tenders, Sailors must be able to take steps. If they use a non-motorized wheelchair it must be collapsible. Motorized wheelchairs and mobility scooters are not permitted on tenders unless a roll-on capability between our ship and the tender is available. Roll-on capability on a tender cannot be guaranteed due to a variety of variable factors. Please note that although weather conditions may be acceptable to safely board a tender, changes in the weather may make reboarding to return to the ship dangerous. The final determination of whether any Sailor may board a tender is made by the captain or his/her staff. Safety restrictions prohibit crew from carrying individuals on or off water shuttles.
Ports that require tendering:
If guests are unable to tender or disembark due to these circumstances, there will be no refund or credit for missed ports. While we recognize your disappointment, the safety of our guests and crew is our primary concern.
